Although I love to wear a bold lip on occasion, I much prefer a nude lip on an everyday basis. I tend to keep my makeup fairly simple for work during the week and leave the weekends for play time. It’s super easy to pop on a nude lip before heading out the door and not have to worry about your lipstick smudging or getting on your teeth.
I picked out four of my favorite nude-ish lipsticks from my collection that always tend to end up at the bottom of my bag because I bring them just about everywhere with me. This first lipstick was one of the first MAC lipsticks I ever purchased. MAC Brave is definitely more of a pink mauve than a nude, but it’s likely one of the most flattering shades you’ll ever try on. Brave is considered a ‘your lips but better’ shade.
You’ve probably heard of MAC Velvet Teddy already as it’s one of the most popular lipstick shades from MAC. I thought this shade would appear more nude on my lips, but it turned out to be a bit darker than I expected (in a good way, though). Velvet Teddy adjusts to different skin tones and looks more like a subtle 90’s brownish pink shade on me. It’s perfect to wear during the day and even at night when you’re a bit more dressed up.
Laura Mercier Spiced Rose is a luxurious and lightweight rose beige shade with an incredibly moisturizing formula. I became a huge fan of Laura Mercier lipsticks after wearing this shade almost everyday for a few months. The finish is semi-luminous with a light shine.
And lastly, Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria is my most recent purchase after hearing about the Matte Revolution Lipsticks through a few of my favorite bloggers. Very Victoria is most similar to Spiced Rose in that it falls in the rose brown shade range. It has a semi-matte finish and is super long lasting.
