The Detailed Bomber

Jacket: New Look. Top: & Other Stories. Skirt: Topshop. Shoes: Vans. Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters (old).

I’m a huge fan of bomber jackets mainly because of how effortlessly cool they make any outfit. Not to mention, they’re a great transitional piece as we’re in the awkward winter-to-spring season weather. Now that the temperature is starting to warm up, I’m excited to be able to wear bomber jackets on the weekends paired with jeans and a t-shirt for a super casual look that still feels like I’ve made some effort.

I have a plain black bomber from Topshop that has kept me very snug the past year and it’s undeniably one of the best pieces in my wardrobe. I’ve been on the hunt for a detailed bomber and fell in love with the embroidery on this one from New Look. The model on the website is wearing the jacket with a metallic dress, which I think pairs really nicely. I’ve also seen various detailed bomber jackets paired with metallic skirts and thought it would be fun to create a look with this particular combo in mind.

And now onto the striped top because let’s face it, stripes will never go out of style. I’m always excited at the prospect of finding another good ole’ striped top. This top in particular is a tight-fit ‘Ballerina Top’ from & Other Stories that has a low back. It’s been a wardrobe staple because I can pair it easily with so many different outfits, which is always a plus.

I don’t think I can sign off without giving a nod to the metallic pleated skirt. Since I’m in the spirit of only purchasing items that will get a ton of wear, you might think that this one was an impulse purchase. However, this pretty, shiny hell of a skirt is actually quite versatile. I’m already getting more wear out of it than I imagined.
