With a brand new year in the palm of my hands, I’ve been making an effort to switch things up in the makeup department. Fall/Winter is actually my favorite season for makeup because it tends to last longer due to the chilly weather. And I find I’m more adventurous with makeup looks during snuggle season. Who doesn’t love a dark smokey eye, bold lips and false lashes on a wintery night out?
I love having glowing skin all year around because of how healthy it looks and feels. Lately, I’ve been mixing one pump of the Tanya Burr Face Illuminator with two pumps of the Urban Decay Naked One & Done. I love how radiant this combo makes my skin. After foundation, I’ll pop on a bit of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer – no surprise there! To add a bit of sheen to the tops of my cheekbones, I’ve been using the Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Liquid Face Highlighter. It gives the most stunning, natural highlight that is perfect for this time of year in my opinion. For brows, I’ve been using the Tanya Burr Perfect Brows Palette and mixing the colors pebble and hot cocoa with an angled liner brush.
The Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer has been my favorite to add some life back into my pale winter skin with my Too Faced Kabuki Brush. I am always tempted to eat it because it smells like chocolate, which is dangerous! After bronzer, I’ll give a light flush to my cheeks with the Urban Decay Afterglow 8 Hour Powder Blush in Fetish. I find the pigmentation and color to be perfect for my skin tone and it’s very long lasting.
I’ve been keeping things relatively simple on my eyes especially during the week for work as I’m usually pressed for time. Lately I’ve been using the colors snowflake and moonlight all over my lid with stormy sky in the crease from the Tanya Burr Galaxy Eye Palette. I’ll also take a bit of all three shades on my waterline with a MAC pencil brush. Then I’ll finish off the look using a bit of starry night smoked out as eyeliner and add two coats of NARS Audacious Mascara. I’m currently using a travel size version of it and will definitely purchase the full size because it’s super volumizing.
Lastly, I’ve been wearing a nude pink lip cream on my lips almost everyday. Specifically, I’ve been using the Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in White Russian. It really pulls the look together while being super hydrating and easy to wear with any outfit. I also enjoy the tingling, lip-plumping effect it gives.
